"Canada, in my unabashedly patriotic view, is the best country in the world; the only one I would want to call home. This great country has been built on the sacrifice, courage, dedication and loyalty of millions who wore our nation's uniform in times of war and peace, but, equally, on the hard work and tireless commitment of the countless millions who supported them. They have handed us a torch, to hold high, and a responsibility to continue to build and protect our legacy. The men and women of today's Canadian Forces, supported by their families and Canadians from coast to coast to coast, take that responsibility seriously, often at an incredible cost to them, sometimes including their life. This Remembrance Day we commemorate past heroism, celebrate our beautiful homeland and remember those who serve, at home and abroad, now."

In the twentieth century, TD Bank Financial Group - then known individually, as the Bank of Toronto, Dominion Bank, Canada Trust, and Canada Permanent witnessed the upheaval of two World Wars.
At the end of both wars, the Bank welcomed back many employees, but also mourned the loss of those who had died. Memorials were created in tribute to those who served and TD Bank Financial Group continues to remember them today. |
