Since our earliest days, our employees have distinguished our organization as a leader in community involvement. Our support for both major national non-profit organizations and local fundraising causes has made us a true community banker in the eyes of our customers and thousands of communities where we operate.

  • As early as 1891, The Dominion Bank created a formal process for funding branch donations to community exhibitions, firemen's suppers, and prizes at local events.
  • In Winnipeg, 60 bank employees took part in TD's Greenback Club, a staff community service organization, donating their time to count $62,000 in pledges to the March of Dimes in 1959.
  • Founded in 1978 to promote children's literacy, today the TD Canadian Children's Book Week donates more than 450,000 storybooks to Canadian grade one students.
  • Created in 1990 to support community-based environmental initiatives, the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation raises money to protect the environment, educate Canadians and support research.
  • TD has a long-standing tradition of supporting the Children's Miracle Network's (CMN) 12 member regional children's hospitals. Through our employee fundraising, and by matching customer donations up to $1 million each year, we are one of CMN's largest contributors.
  • Demonstrating the on-going commitment of TDBFG employees to community causes, employees raise millions of dollars each year to support countless service organizations.
  • Today our employees in Canada and the United States make an incredible difference in our communities, particularly in the areas of children?s health, literacy and education, the environment and an array of local causes.

See the TD Bank Financial Group Corporate Responsibility Report for information about our economic, social and environmental performance and our commitments to all the communities we serve.
