Customer Service Representative
8:30 a.m.

Arrive at the office ready to start the day.

Arrive at the office, go through email and voice mail and write down my action list. Read up on the latest business news.
8:45 a.m.

Check status of current deals

Review all current credit requests within my business pipeline and review current investments that are up for maturity within business portfolio.
9:30 a.m.

Return phone calls and reply to emails.

Review my business portfolio to identify business opportunities and provide advice to my business customer’s by identifying ways to save them money or by providing banking services and products to make their business grow.
10:30 a.m.

First appointment booked.

My first appointment today is to open a new business account for a new customer, it was a proactive meeting. We talked about his business and also discussed a business line of credit which will help with his cash flow as he starts his new business. I add the clients request within my business pipeline tracker to ensure follow up which is usually within 5 business days. Continue to monitor email and voice mail.
11:30 a.m.

View status of current credit deals.

When submitting a credit application, discussing a deal with an area manager is a complex task. From contacting credit adjudication centre representatives to funding officers each day is different but very rewarding. Knowing you were able to provide assistance with a client’s dream of having their own business is an amazing feeling.
12:30 p.m.

Lunch break or lunch meeting.

1:30 p.m.

Return from lunch.

Check for any voice mail and email. Complete any current files and enquires. There are many aspects to a credit request which can occupy your time. Going through financial statements and calculating ratios, or simply positioning a credit proposal to a client takes great precise to detail and patience.
2:30 p.m.

Attending a meeting outside of the office.

Today I am meeting with one of my existing customer’s to finalize a request by signing the appropriate documents. I really enjoy meeting clients at their office you will usually get a tour and learn how their business runs internally which helps you understand their business and needs.
3:30 p.m.

Back at the office.

Contact my clients I need to follow up with for credit requests, investigations or general enquires.
4:00 p.m.

Return phone calls and emails.

I ensure all my voicemail and email are responded to accordingly. I review all requests have been handled and initiated and documented within my business pipeline which helps by setting time lines and ensures follow up is handled appropriately.
5:00 p.m.

Change my voicemail for tomorrow advising my availability.

End of day.
