TD Canada Trust Scholarships for Community Leadership
Think Canadian teens spend all their time on the phone or in front of the TV? Think again. Many are passionate about making a difference in the world around them - excelling in school while devoting their extra time to fighting child poverty, launching tutoring programs and protecting the environment, among other things.
Twenty of these exemplary young people are honoured each
year with one of the most prestigious scholarships in the country, the
TD Canada Trust Scholarships for Community Leadership.
How the program works
The scholarships celebrate community leadership and academic excellence. Each scholarship is valued at up to $60,000 and includes:
- Full tuition at a Canadian university or college for up to four years
- $5,000 per year toward living expenses
- An offer of summer employment at TD Canada Trust for up to four years
Students across Canada in their final year of high school (or CEGEP in Quebec) are invited to apply. Five regional judging panels that include prominent educators, politicians and community representatives select from among the more than 3,800 applications received annually.
