1. Review TDBFG's focus areas to see if your project or program aligns with our interest areas.

2. Review our eligibility criteria to ensure that your request fits with our granting policy.

3. Review our Frequently Asked Questions section.

4. Complete and submit our on-line application form. It should take you 20-30 minutes to complete.

Some information we will require:

1. Information about your organization, including your organization's name, mandate and Charitable Registration Number.

2. Contact information so that we can reach you, including an email address.

3. A list of the Board of Directors and Advisory Board members (if applicable).

4. The most recent audited financial statements of the organization.

5. Nature of the current campaign/appeal for which you are requesting funding.

6. Overall campaign/program funding objectives and where these funds are expected to come from (i.e. breakdown between public and private sector; funds coming from matching campaigns).

7. Campaign or project/program budget.

8. Type and how much support you seek.

9. How TD's funds will be used and how that support might be recognized.

10. An indication of whether the organization is a member agency of United Way/Centraide.

What happens after you submit your on-line application?

• Once you have submitted your on-line application, you will receive confirmation by e-mail that your application was submitted successfully.

• Within 72 hours of submission, we will contact you by e-mail to let you know that we are in the process of reviewing your request.

• You can expect a decision on whether or not we can provide the support you have requested approximately two weeks from the date you submit your request.

Note: This response time may be prolonged in case of an unexpectedly high volume of requests or if your request is incomplete and we must contact you for additional information.

Funding Focus Areas

• TDBFG promotes the education of children from pre-school to post secondary school by placing its support behind initiatives ranging from scholarships to reading clubs to in-class programs.

• The health and safety of children is something in which we at TDBFG strongly believe. We are interested in initiatives devoted to fostering the well-being of Canada's young people.

• TD supports a variety of causes that promote arts and culture, improve social services, and strengthen our civic institutions.

Eligibility Criteria

• Organizations must be Canadian, using the funds donated by TD in Canada.

• Organizations must be not-for-profit, with a Charitable Registration Number.

• Organizations must be able to provide a charitable tax-receipt for the full amount of donation

Note: TD provides substantial support to United Way organizations across Canada. For this reason, we do not provide duplicate support to organizations that are United Way/Centraide member agencies

TD partners with the services of MicroEdge for the purpose of administering the on-line charitable grant request application. Our on-line application is a tool that helps us understand your charitable funding requirements. It consists of a series of questions about the organization that you represent as well as questions about the program/service/facility for which you seek support. Together, TD Bank Financial Group and MicroEdge guarantee that all information provided by and received from you will be held in strict and complete confidence to protect your privacy, and will only be used for the purpose of review and adjudication of charitable funding requests from TD.

The information you send through the on-line charitable grant application will only be made available to those employees and/or representatives of TD Bank who are involved in the review and adjudication process and this information will be used exclusively to determine TD's ability to make a charitable grant to your organization only.
