1.When do I need to apply for funding?

Please send in your application at least three months prior to the start date of your project.

2.Should I telephone to verify that my request has been received?

No. You will receive confirmation by e-mail. We review every request submitted through our on-line application form. But due to the large numbers of requests that we receive, we are unable to confirm receipt of individual requests by telephone.

3.I prefer the personal touch. Can I explain my proposal in person?

Due to the high volumes of requests that we receive, we encourage you to contact us by e-mail. If we determine that your request is aligned with our foundation's goals and we have sufficient resources to pursue the opportunity further, we may contact you personally to hear more about your organization and the proposal in question.

4.Can I verify that my request meets the eligibility criteria of TD Friends of the Environment Foundation?

Yes. The eligibility criteria can be found on the Funding Focus Areas page. Before submitting a request, we encourage you to review our Eligibility Criteria to determine whether your proposal is well aligned with our funding mandate. If you believe that it is, we invite you to submit an application.

5.Should I print a copy of the application?

Yes. We do recommend that you print and keep a copy of the application for your own records. However, we ask that you do not send it to us as this may lead to duplicate records.

6.This on-line application form takes some time to complete. Is it worth the effort?

Yes. Most well-prepared applicants complete the on-line application form in 30 minutes or less. For this modest investment of time and effort, you provide us with the important information we need to assess your request fairly and in a timely fashion.

7.When will I hear if my request has been approved?

When you submit a request you will receive an e-mail notification confirming that we have received it with the contact information of the receiving TD Friends of the Environment Chapter. We strive to evaluate your request in a timely manner. We will contact you approximately three weeks following a Chapter Board meeting.

The Chapter Advisory Boards meet periodically to review requests. If you want specific details on when your application will be reviewed, please e-mail the contact person listed in your e-mail notification of receipt.

If you have read the FAQs above but still have a question about our on-line application process, or if you would like to provide us with feedback, please send us an e-mail outlining your questions and/or comments. Please include the following information in your e-mail:

  • Your name
