TD Bank Financial Group partners with Aboriginal businesses and organizations to foster positive, ongoing relationships and create ways to recruit Aboriginal men and women.
In 1996, TD Bank, together with the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations and the Saskatchewan Indian Equity Foundation Inc., launched First Nations Bank of Canada.
To further promote greater self-sufficiency and economic development within the nation's Aboriginal communities, TD Bank Financial Group has established connections with Indian and Northern Affairs Canada and numerous other organizations including the Canadian Council for Aboriginal Business, and the Interprovincial Association for Native Employment.
As well, TD Bank Financial Group has introduced a number of initiatives designed to promote the advancement of Aboriginal youth. For instance, we recruit from Aboriginal and on-campus recruitment conferences and career fairs from around the country including the Blueprint for the Future Career Fair organized by the National Aboriginal Achievement Foundation.
At the same time, we continue to support Aboriginal educational achievement through a number of scholarship and bursary programs that identify high-performance students. Some of these programs may also provide opportunity for summer employment.
