#ChooseToChallenge

Published:08/03/2021

On Monday, March 8th, 2021, women the world over, and their supporters, celebrate International Women's Day (IWD). Since 1911, this day has united people under many a common cause: celebrating women's achievements, raising awareness about women's equality, lobbying for accelerated gender parity, and fundraising for female-focused charities.

This year is no different as we continue to take stock in women, highlighting the social, economic, cultural and political contributions that have changed, and continue to change, the world. The theme of IWD 2021 is #ChooseToChallenge, and it asks us all to take responsibility for our thoughts and actions. Even when it means calling out gender bias and inequality. Even when it means recognizing our own.

The #ChooseToChallenge theme reminds and empowers us to help create an inclusive world. What does that look like? Many positive steps across a long journey. In the meantime, we start by raising a hand in the air and pledging our support. Remember to strike this pose today and share it across social media with the #ChooseToChallenge and #IWD2021 hashtags to encourage others to join the cause.

At TD Asset Management Inc. (TDAM), our hands are consistently in the air, whether we are hosting a robust Women and Wealth Resource Portal or driving a Female Advisor Strategy. We are proud to serve and support women from all walks of life. Ask Ingrid Macintosh, Vice President, TD Wealth and Executive Sponsor, TD Women and Wealth. She's a particularly passionate advocate when it comes to increasing representation of women leaders across the bank.

In the fourth edition of TDAM's Women and Wealth Podcast Series, Ingrid interviews Anna Iacobelli, Senior Vice President, Regional Branch Banking, and Jody Beaupre, Regional Vice President, Financial Planning on their experiences in a male-dominated industry and the myths around women and wealth. Tune in for some hot topics and key takeaways!

And how's this article for more inspiration? Ingrid Macintosh: This is a pivotal financial moment in history for women but the industry needs to step up.

Happy International Women's Day from TDAM!
