This function allows you to transfer funds between accounts that are in the same currency (e.g. $CDN->$CDN or $USD->$USD).

To transfer funds between accounts of different currencies (e.g. $CDN->$USD), choose Foreign Exchange Transfer .

Step 1 of 3:

Select "From" Account

Select the From Account where the funds will be withdrawn. All your eligible TD Bank Group accounts will appear in the drop-down menu. In WebBroker, you can transfer funds FROM your:

Select "To" Account

The To Account determines where the funds will be deposited. WebBroker will only display the eligible accounts based on the From account selected. In WebBroker you can transfer funds TO your:

  • TD Direct Investing $CDN accounts (account numbers ending in A, E or L)
  • TD Direct Investing $USD accounts (account numbers ending in B,F or M)
  • TD Direct Investing Registered (TFSA, RSP, RESP, CPRSP, QSSP) accounts (account numbers ending in J, Q, S, V and X. No contributions allowed to the $USD component of your TFSA (K) or RSP (U))
  • TD Canada Trust RSP (Daily Interest Savings Accounts) and TFSA Accounts (TD High Interest TFSA Savings Accounts)
  • TD Canada Trust $CDN savings/chequing account
  • TD Canada Trust line of credit/student line of credit
  • TD Canada Trust $USD chequing account

Note: Only accounts where you are the beneficial owner will appear in the Transfers drop down menu. Any sub-accounts where you have Trading Authority or Power of Attorney will not appear in WebBroker.


Enter the amount (in dollars and cents) to be transferred.

Next Button

Once you have entered the details of your transfer, click the Next button. If any details are missing, a message will be displayed.

Step 2 of 3:

Review the details of your transfer before confirming the transaction.

If the information displayed is correct, click the Finish button to proceed. If you wish to change any of the information you have entered, click the Back button and you will be returned to Step 1.

Step 3 of 3:

WebBroker will verify the status of your account and complete the transfer. You will receive a confirmation number for your transfer to show that your transfer request has been completed successfully. If your transfer cannot be completed for any reason, you will receive an error message indicating the reason the transaction could not be completed.

When will my transfer be processed?

Transfer requests to/from your TD Direct Investing account placed during normal business hours are processed immediately and dated the same day. Although your account balances will not be updated until the next day, any cash transactions will be reflected on the Cash Details screen (from the Balances page) or the Current Positions View for the account. WebBroker will calculate your available cash or margin - based on processed transfers - and allow you to trade with the available balance.

For transfer requests placed after normal business hours, see the chart below to confirm when the transaction will be dated, when the funds are available for trading, and when your TD Direct Investing account balance will be updated.

1. – All processed transactions will appear immediately in the Account Activity and on the Cash Details, Current Positions View for the account.

Transfers to/from TD Direct Investing accounts will not be available: 8:00PM - 8:30PM ET, 4:30AM - 5:15AM ET (Monday to Friday), 9:00AM - 10:00AM ET (Saturday Only), 12:00AM - 5:00AM ET (Sunday Only).

Transfers requests between your TD Canada Trust accounts placed before 12:00AM ET (Monday to Friday) (business day) are completed immediately and dated the same day. Transfers placed during the weekend or statutory holidays will be completed immediately but dated as of the next business day.

Can I process a Spousal Contribution to my TD Direct Investing spousal RSP account through WebBroker?

Yes. Spousal Contributions can be made through WebBroker by selecting the Spousal Option displayed on the Cash Transfers Step 1 of 3 screen.

Some of my TD Bank Group accounts do not appear in the 'From' or 'To' account list. Why?

A particular account may not appear in the Transfer drop down menu due to:
