Because we know that our customers care deeply about the well-being of our planet, we continue to introduce opportunities for them to reduce their impact and help the environment. Some examples include:
Paperless banking
Through our online banking service, we offer customers the possibility of going paperless and accessing up to 18 months of their transaction history online at any given time instead of receiving a paper statement. We promoted this service last year to increase customer usage.
The results for 2007 are tremendous, including approximately 24% of our customers using paperless banking (up from 20% in 2006), saving more than 30 million sheets of paper.
WebBroker
TD investors have the option of accessing their accounts, executing trades and receiving communications online via our WebBroker service.
TD Global Sustainability Fund
In June 2007, TD Asset Management announced the creation of the TD Global Sustainability Fund. This fund offers a choice for investors wanting to invest in companies whose business activities reflect an interest in the world’s future sustainability.
TD Friends of the Environment Foundation
We’ve made it easy and convenient for customers to support local environmental projects, with an automated monthly donation program whereby they can donate from their TD Canada Trust accounts to the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation.
Green Mortgage and Insurance Products
Mortgage and HELOC: In November 2007, TD Canada Trust launched two innovative products for those planning to buy a home or leverage the equity in their existing home. These products are a five year-fixed rate Green Mortgage or a Green HELOC (Home Equity Line of Credit).
Auto Insurance Discount: Owning a recognized hybrid vehicle could now result in a savings of up to 10% off the total premium via the TD Meloche Monnex Green Wheel discount, newly introduced in 2007.
We’re continuing to consider new green products and services to offer our customers.
