Fixed Income Investments Team

Jennifer is the Head of Fixed Income, leading teams responsible for providing a full complex of fixed income solutions for retail and institutional clients. She has extensive experience across the buy- and sell-side at banks, pension funds, and asset managers. Prior to joining the firm, she spent several years at a major institutional investment manager as Head of Global Credit, building out the firm’s credit platform across public and private markets. Jennifer is also a member of the Board, and past-Chair, of The Neighbourhood Group Community Services and a Trustee of Union College, in Schenectady, New York. Jennifer holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Toronto, is a CFA Charterholder, and is a member of the TD Wealth Asset Allocation Committee.

Scott is Managing Director & Head of Active Fixed Income. He is responsible for Canadian and global active fixed income portfolio management for retail and institutional solutions. He has extensive industry experience as a Co-CIO at a well-recognized, independent Canadian asset management firm, with a focus on absolute return strategies in the fixed income and currency markets. He was Managing Director and Partner at a Canadian hedge fund. Scott served as Senior Vice-President and Portfolio Manager at a large Canadian mutual fund company overseeing all domestic and global bond portfolios, as well as Vice President & Director on the Fixed Income. He started his career at the Bank of Canada, where he worked in both a research and trading capacity. Scott has a B.A. with Honours from Queen’s University and an MBA from the Rotman School of Business at the University of Toronto.

Elaine is a Senior Portfolio Manager on the Active Fixed Income Team with a focus on the short bond and liquidity mandates. She works to design retail and institutional client investment solutions and oversees the team responsible for Liquidity Solutions. Her experience includes several positions in fixed income including a major investment bank in New York City and a hedge fund based in Toronto. Elaine holds an MBA from the Rotman School of Business at the University of Toronto and an M.Sc. in Biochemistry from Queen’s University. She is a market representative on the Bank of Canada Canadian Fixed-Income Forum (CFIF).

Dennis serves as a Fixed Income Portfolio Manager, managing fixed income mutual funds, models and SMAs. His previous Co-Manager responsibilities included exchange-traded funds for the firm. He gained wide-ranging experience through a variety of fixed income positions at an investment bank and as a member of the securitized and corporate bond strategy teams at an asset management firm. He holds a B.B.A. in Banking and Finance from Hofstra University.

Chad oversees fixed income portfolio management. He is responsible for charting broad fixed income investment strategies across all mandates and oversees client responsibilities. He previously managed the fixed income trading desk, leveraging prior experience as a Fixed Income Trader. Chad holds a B. Admin. from the University of Regina and is actively involved in Canadian charity and community organizations.

Hafiz is a Senior Portfolio Manager on the Active Fixed Income team. He manages Canadian Core, Core Plus and Global Fixed Income mandates, serving retail and institutional clients. He started his career at the company as an Investment Grade Credit Research analyst, where he focused on bottom-up fundamental research of global sovereign and corporate bond issuers. Prior to joining the firm, Hafiz spent five years in engineering and consulting roles in the technology industry. Hafiz holds a B.Sc. with Honours in Computer Engineering and an M.Sc. in Biomedical and Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto, and an MBA with Distinction from the Richard Ivey School of Business.

Alex is a Senior Portfolio Manager on the Active Fixed Income Portfolio Management team. She manages Core Plus and Global fixed income portfolios and is a member of the TD Wealth Asset Allocation Committee. She previously managed global fixed income and multi-asset strategies for an independent Canadian asset management firm where she was Head of Rates. Alex holds a B.Math (Honours) from the University of Waterloo, a B.B.A. (Honours) from Wilfrid Laurier University, and an M.Sc. in Government Analytics from Johns Hopkins University.

As Head of Credit, Benjamin oversees the firm's Investment Grade Credit Research, Investment Grade Portfolio Management and High Yield Portfolio Management teams. He has extensive knowledge of the firm's fixed income portfolios and credit experience both domestically and globally, having led the management of the firm's Canadian and Global Investment Grade Corporate Bond mandates as well as the Global High Yield Bond mandates. Prior to joining the firm, Benjamin earned progressively senior positions at major Canadian investment firms, including roles as a Senior Credit Analyst, Hedge Fund Manager and Senior Portfolio Manager. Benjamin holds a B.A.C.S. from Western University.

Anthony is the Lead of Investment Grade Credit Research and Chair of the firm's Credit Committee, which is responsible for overseeing the assessment of issuer credit quality and risk, focusing on Canadian banking, pharmaceuticals, and structured products. Prior to that, he held the role of Team Leader of Canadian Credit Research. Anthony has extensive credit research and risk management experience with two Canadian banks. Anthony holds a B.Econ. from Western University and an MBA from the University of Toronto.

Rachana is a Vice President & Director on the Active Fixed Income Portfolio Management team. She is the Lead Portfolio Manager of the TD Canadian Corporate Bond Fund, TD Select Short Term Corporate Bond Ladder ETF, TD Target Maturity Bond Funds and TD Target Maturity Bond ETFs. Rachana co-manages the TD Canadian Diversified Yield Fund. Previously, she was a part of the Credit Research team with the firm, where she covered the Global Consumer and Retail sector. She gained industry experience as a Senior Analyst on the Infrastructure Finance team of a credit research and ratings firm, focusing on public/private partnerships, airports, ports and other infrastructure-related issuers. She also previously worked in the Investment Banking division of a large international bank in New York. Rachana holds a B.Eng. with Distinction from Visvesvaraya Technological University and an M.Sc. in Financial Engineering from the University of Michigan.

Anthony contributes to the management and oversight of the firm's high yield mandates by applying fundamental, research-intensive discipline to security selection and portfolio construction. He is the Lead Portfolio Manager of the TD High Yield Bond Fund and the TD Active U.S. High Yield Bond ETF. Anthony has extensive fixed income investing experience across various mandates, specializing in credit analysis with a focus on high yield and leveraged loan securities. He has held positions of escalating seniority from Analyst to Vice President & Portfolio Manager at several high-profile financial services and asset management firms. He holds a B. Comm. from the University of Toronto.

Matt is Head of the Portfolio Analytics Team, which provides research and proprietary analytics for the Portfolio Management Teams. He is responsible for the creation of analytical capabilities supporting retail and institutional clients across multiple asset classes. He holds a B. Math in Pure Mathematics from the University of Waterloo.

Andrew is a Vice President & Director on the Public Equities team and provides coverage on the Semiconductor and Technology Hardware sectors. He earned progressively more senior analyst positions at investment firms, including a major Canadian bank and the Alberta Teachers’ Retirement Fund Board. Andrew holds a B.A. in Honours Business Administration from the Ivey Business School at Western University.

Heather is a Vice President & Director on the Public Equities team and provides research coverage of the Global Infrastructure sector, focusing on Global Midstream, Utilities and Diversified Infrastructure. She has experience in Fixed Income markets, including credit, and has covered several sectors and geographies within equities over her career. She is also a past-President of the CFAI Saskatchewan chapter. Heather holds a B. Admin with Honours from the University of Regina.

Terence is a Vice President & Director on the Public Equities team, responsible for co-managing U.S., International and Global equity strategies and providing coverage on the Chemicals sector. He was previously responsible for coverage of various industrial sectors. Prior to that, Terence was an equity analyst with an asset management firm and gained experience as a Research Associate at several large investment firms and with an internship at a major Canadian bank. Terence holds a B.Sc. with a Specialization in Actuarial Science from the University of Alberta and an MBA from the University of British Columbia.

Andriy is the Lead Manager of the TD Precious Metals Fund and TD Resource Fund. He also provides investment recommendations for companies in the Commodities Extraction industries, including oil and gas, metals and mining, agriculture and related areas. Andriy was previously an Associate on the Canadian Value team, responsible for fundamental research and analysis of equity investments. He completed the Rotational Program, rotating through the Core Canadian Equity, Investment Risk, High Yield, Equity Index and Synthetics teams. Andriy holds a B.A. in International Management from the National Agricultural University in Kyiv, Ukraine, an MA in International Economics and Finance from Brandeis University and an MBA from the Richard Ivey School of Business.

Jeff is Vice President and Director of Empirical Research within the firm's Public Equities Team and Lead Portfolio Manager of the TD Active Global Real Estate Equity ETF. He focuses on factor analysis and quantitative risk assessment for the TD Active Global Infrastructure Equity ETF and the TD Active Global Real Estate Equity ETF and institutional and retail equity funds. Jeff leads the Empirical Research team, which supports portfolio managers and analysts across the firm's Public Equities team on a global basis. He is also Co-Lead Portfolio Manager the TD Active Global Infrastructure Equity Strategy. Jeff oversees ongoing management of the Fund’s quantitative characteristics. He held progressively more senior roles at several major Canadian bank-owned broker dealers. He holds a B.Math. from the University of Waterloo and an L.L.M. from Osgoode Hall at York University.

Adnann leads the Synthetic/Derivatives Portfolio Management team, overseeing overlay mandates that extensively employ equity, interest rates and foreign exchange (FX) derivatives. He is also responsible for the research and development of innovative derivatives-based investment strategies. Adnann has headed the Derivatives desk since 2015 and was previously a Global Macro Rates and FX Strategist at TD Securities Inc., where he developed investment strategies based on proprietary analysis of market risk premium and economic conditions in developed economies. Adnann has also worked as a Fixed Income Portfolio Manager at a large Canadian pension fund. He holds an MBA from McGill University.

John is a member of the Trading team where he oversees Fixed Income Trading across all sectors and geographies, including money market, rates and credit. Prior to his current role, John worked at another top Canadian financial institution as an Associate Director where he provided derivative hedging solutions to corporate clients, then moved on to Director of Fixed Income Sales where he covered many of the largest investment managers in the country on both credit and rates. John holds a B.Comm. from McMaster University and an MBA from Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto.

Irina manages the Fixed Income, Currency and Derivatives Trading team that executes fixed income, currency and derivatives across various sectors and geographies, including fixed income, options, futures, foreign exchange, commodities, swaps. She has experience in trade execution, market structure, risk management, financial reporting and fund accounting. Irina holds a B.A. and M.Fin., both from the University of Toronto and has been a CFA Charterholder since 2003. Irina is the Vice Chair of the Canadian Bond Investor's Association, a member of the Ontario Securities Commission's Market Structure Advisory Committee and a member of the Disciplinary Review Committee at the CFA Institute.

Michelle is the lead portfolio manager for the Passive Fixed Income mandates. She oversees the Passive Fixed Income Portfolio Management team and is responsible for managing and structuring fixed income solutions for the firm's passive, overlay and ETF solutions. She has gained wide-ranging experience as an Analyst and Portfolio Manager working in active and passive fixed income. Michelle holds a B.A. in Political Science and Economics from Western University.

Jafer is Head of Client Portfolio Management at the firm, covering equity, fixed income, alternative and multi-asset strategies. He leads a team of investment professionals who communicate and deliver investment solutions to clients through collaboration with portfolio managers, relationship managers and distribution teams. Jafer was previously the Head of Institutional Asset Allocation at the firm where he was accountable for designing strategic asset mix, fund selection and portfolio management of active balanced funds and custom fund of fund solutions. He has previous experience working in fixed income and investment solutions development as a Vice-President with a global investment management firm along with experience within investment consulting. Jafer holds a B.B.A. with Honours from Wilfrid Laurier University.

David is a Client Portfolio Manager for Alternative Investments. He works with the Alternative Investments team as a liaison to client service and business development initiatives. He was previously a Client Portfolio Manager for Fixed Income and Multi-Asset and gained experience as an Equity Trader and Analyst. David holds a B.B.A. from the University of Regina.

Colin is the Managing Director and Head of Alternative Investments, providing strategic guidance and oversight to all real estate, mortgage, private debt and infrastructure investment management activities, including acquisitions, divestitures, product development and portfolio management. He was previously responsible for the Canadian and International Real Estate strategies, including fund design and structuring, as well as the implementation and oversight of acquired assets. Colin serves as Chair of the Alternative Investments Committee. Colin holds a B.A. and a B.Comm., both with Distinction from Queen’s University, an MBA with Distinction from Harvard University and an ARCT with Honours from the Royal Conservatory of Music. In 2020, Colin was named one of Canada's Top 40 under 40. He is the Chair of the Toronto Investment Board, and a Member of the Board of Directors of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, the Black Opportunity Fund, and the Advisory Committee of OneEleven. Colin is an Emeritus Trustee of Queen’s University.
