TD Mutual Funds and TD ETFs are qualified for sale in the provinces and territories of Canada. This site does not constitute an offer or solicitation to residents of the US or the UK or anyone in any other jurisdiction in which such an offer or solicitation is not authorized or to any person to whom it is unlawful to make such a solicitation.

Commissions, management fees and expenses all may be associated with mutual fund and/or exchange-traded fund ("ETF") investments (collectively, "the Funds"). Trailing commissions may be associated with mutual fund investments. ETF units are bought and sold at market price on a stock exchange and brokerage commissions will reduce returns. Please read the fund facts or ETF Facts and the prospectus, which contain detailed investment information, before investing in the Funds. The indicated rates of return (other than for money market funds) are the historical total returns for the period, compounded for mutual funds, including changes in unit value and reinvestment of distributions. The indicated rate of return for each money market fund is an annualized historical yield based on the seven-day period ended as indicated and annualized in the case of effective yield by compounding the seven-day return and does not represent an actual one year return. Index returns do not represent ETF returns. The indicated rates of return do not take into account sales, redemption, commission charges, distribution or optional charges, as applicable, or income taxes payable by any securityholder that would have reduced returns. The Funds are not covered by the Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation or by any other government deposit insurer and are not guaranteed or insured. Their values change frequently. There can be no assurances that a money market fund will be able to maintain its net asset value per unit at a constant amount or that the full amount of your investment will be returned to you. Past performance may not be repeated.

Definitions of Risk Statistics

The Risk Statistics shown below are based on monthly returns.

Alpha-Best Fit - Excess return relative to the best fit benchmark, adjusted for market risk.

Alpha-Primary - The excess return of a fund relative to its expected return based on beta. Indicates manager skill in adding value beyond market risk exposure. Morningstar deducts the current monthly average return of the 91-day T-bill from the monthly average return of both the fund and the benchmark index. The difference is called the fund's excess return. The resulting monthly Alpha is annualized by multiplying by 12.

Best Fit Benchmark - The index with the highest correlation (R-squared) to a fund’s returns over the past 36 months.

Beta-Best Fit - Sensitivity of fund returns relative to the best fit benchmark.

Beta-Primary - A measure of systematic risk, showing a fund’s sensitivity to movements in its benchmark. A beta of 1 implies market-like risk; greater or less than 1 indicates higher or lower sensitivity. Morningstar calculates beta from regression of fund’s excess returns over T-bills vs benchmark excess returns.

Down Capture Ratio Against S&P 500 - A measure of performance in down markets, showing how much of the benchmark’s losses the fund experienced. Values below 100% indicate relative downside protection. Morningstar’s method: fund return in months where benchmark return is negative, divided by benchmark return; then reported over multiple trailing periods, using geometric averages.

Mean - The arithmetic average of a set of returns, representing the central tendency of performance.

Primary Benchmark - The reference index identified in the fund’s prospectus for performance comparison.

R-Square-Best Fit - The proportion of return variation explained by the best fit benchmark.

R-Square-Primary - The proportion of a fund’s return variation explained by its benchmark. Values range from 0 (no correlation) to 1 (perfect correlation). Morningstar expresses R-squared often as percent (0-100) rather than decimal 0-1 in some communications.

Sharpe Ratio - A risk-adjusted performance measure calculated as excess return per unit of total risk (standard deviation). Morningstar uses excess returns over risk-free rate, divides by standard deviation (of excess returns), computed over monthly periods, then annualized.

Standard Deviation - A measure of the dispersion of returns around the mean, representing total risk or volatility. Higher values indicate greater uncertainty in returns. Morningstar uses the sample standard deviation method.

Up Capture Ratio Against S&P 500 - A measure of performance in up markets, showing how much of the benchmark’s gains the fund captured. Values above 100% indicate outperformance. Morningstar’s method: fund return in months where benchmark return is positive, divided by benchmark return; then reported over multiple trailing periods, using geometric averages.
