This spring, TD Global Investment Solutions will be travelling to nine cities across Canada for the 22nd annual Sharing of Knowledge Learning Series. This in-person regional event features institutional leaders from TD Asset Management Inc. (TDAM) and Epoch Investment Partners, Inc. (TD Epoch) as they share thought provoking insights and the latest industry trends.

Kevin Hebner, PhD

Managing Director, Global Portfolio Management, Epoch Investment Partners, Inc.

Kevin is a global investment strategist. Prior to joining Epoch Investment Partners, Inc. (TD Epoch) in 2016, Kevin served as a senior FX strategist at J.P. Morgan Securities. Before J.P. Morgan, Kevin worked as a global investment strategist at Third Wave Global Investors, Citigroup Asset Management and Credit Suisse Asset Management. Prior to Credit Suisse, Kevin worked at the Bank of Japan. In addition, Kevin was a visiting professor at Kyoto University. Kevin earned a BA in Economics from the University of Toronto and graduated from Queen's University with a PhD in Financial Economics and a MA in Economics.

Kevin will present in Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Saskatoon, Winnipeg, Regina and Québec.

 

Hafiz Noordin, CFA

Vice President & Director, Active Fixed Income Portfolio Management, TD Asset Management Inc.

Hafiz is a Senior Portfolio Manager on the Active Fixed Income team, focusing on managing Global and Canadian Fixed Income mandates and serving retail and institutional clients. He started his career at the company as an Investment Grade Credit Research analyst, where he focused on bottom-up fundamental research of global sovereign and corporate bond issuers. Prior to joining the firm, Hafiz spent five years in engineering and consulting roles in the technology industry. Hafiz holds a B.Sc. with Honours in Computer Engineering and an M.Sc. in Biomedical and Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto, and an MBA with Distinction from the Richard Ivey School of Business.

Hafiz will present in Vancouver, Edmonton, Calgary, Saskatoon and Toronto.

 

Alexandra Gorewicz, CIM

Vice President & Director, Active Fixed Income Portfolio Management, TD Asset Management Inc.

Alex is a Senior Portfolio Manager on the Active Fixed Income Portfolio Management team. She manages Core Plus and Global fixed income portfolios and is a member of the TD Wealth Asset Allocation Committee. She previously managed global fixed income and multi-asset strategies for an independent Canadian asset management firm where she was Head of Rates. Alex holds a B.Math (Honours) from the University of Waterloo, a B.B.A. (Honours) from Wilfrid Laurier University, and an M.Sc. in Government Analytics from Johns Hopkins University.

Alexandra will present in Winnipeg, Regina, Montréal and Québec.

 

Andrew Croll, CFA, CAIA

Managing Director, Head of Global Real Estate Investments, TD Asset Management Inc.

Andrew is Managing Director and Head of Global Real Estate Investments where he is responsible for the Canadian and International Real Estate strategies. He has oversight over Portfolio and Asset Management, Transactions, Developments and Research. As a member of the Senior Management Team of Alternative Investments, a voting member of the Alternative Investments Committee, and in his prior role leading the Alternatives Client Portfolio Management Team, he has experience with portfolio management, product development and implementation, transactions and risk management activities of our real estate, infrastructure and commercial mortgage portfolios. Prior to joining the firm, Andrew spent several years at an investment consulting firm. Andrew holds a B. Comm. with Honours from McMaster University and is a member of the firm’s ESG Engagement Committee.

Andrew will present in Vancouver, Montréal and Toronto.

 

Matt Sych, CFA, CPA, CMA

Managing Director, Head of Portfolio & Asset Management, Global Real Estate Investments, TD Asset Management Inc.

Matt leads the Global Portfolio and Asset Management teams. He is responsible for domestic and international real estate portfolio and asset management. He previously worked as a Commodity Accountant with a major Canadian agricultural company. Matt holds a B.B.A in Accounting from the University of Regina.

Matt will present in Edmonton, Calgary and Saskatoon.

 

Luke Schmidt, CFA

Managing Director, Head of Transactions, Global Real Estate Investments, TD Asset Management Inc.

Luke leads the Global Transactions Team, with responsibility for acquisitions and dispositions in Canada and internationally. Since joining the firm in 2006, he gained extensive experience working on numerous aspects of the real estate portfolio at the firm. Luke holds a B. Comm. and an M.Sc. in Finance, both from the University of Saskatchewan.

Luke will present in Winnipeg and Regina.

 

Christian Charlot, CFA

Associate, Client Portfolio Management, TD Asset Management Inc.

As a member of the Client Portfolio Management Team, Christian works with the Alternative Investments Team as a liaison to client service and business development initiatives. He was previously a Relationship Manager Associate, where he leveraged his knowledge of clients, portfolios and process to create a positive client experience. Christian holds a B.B.A. from the University of HEC Montréal.

Christian will present in Montréal and Québec.

Beata Caranci

Senior Vice President and Chief Economist, TD Bank Group

Beata is the Chief Economist and Senior Vice President for TD Bank Group. Having joined TD in 2003, she leads three economic teams. One is tasked with delivering forecasts, presentations, and research publications for TD clients, the other team oversees economic risk and regulatory stress test requirements, and the third team is focused on environmental and social policy research. Beata is a member of several external committees, including the economic council for the American Bankers Association and C.D. Howe's Monetary Policy Council. Beata is a passionate supporter of TD’s diversity initiatives and has dedicated more than a decade to researching and driving awareness among policymakers on the labour market friction experienced by women. Her research report, “Get on Board Corporate Canada,” helped influence the Ontario Securities Commission’s rule amendments on disclosure of women on boards. A separate report detailing the obstacles faced by women in STEM fields, lead to an invitation to appear at the Senate Open Caucus to discuss policy prescriptions to counter systemic biases. Beata's distinguished evidenced-based research combined with the breadth of her role as Chief Economist for TD Bank earned the Professional category award by WXN's Canada's Most Powerful Women. Prior to joining TD, Beata worked nearly four years on a trading floor providing economic analysis to foreign exchange, money market and bond desks.

Hon. Frank McKenna

Deputy Chair, Wholesale Banking, TD Securities

Frank has been an executive with TD Bank Group since 2006 and joined TD Securities in January 2020. As Deputy Chair he is focused on supporting the continued expansion of TD Securities’ global footprint. Frank has extensive expertise in business and government. After successfully practicing law, he served as Premier of New Brunswick from 1987-1997. Upon leaving public life, he was in widespread demand as a Corporate Director and acted as Counsel to two national law firms. He was named to the Security Intelligence Review Committee and was inducted into the New Brunswick Business Hall of Fame and the Canadian Business Hall of Fame. In 2005 he became Canadian Ambassador to the United States of America. After completing his time as Ambassador, he joined TD Bank Group and also became Chairman of Brookfield Asset Management and a Director of Canadian Natural Resources. Frank is a King’s Counsel, Member of the King’s Counsel, a Fellowship of the Institute of Corporate Directors, Member of the Order of New Brunswick, Member of the Order of Canada, Red Cross Humanitarian of the Year award recipient, and an Outstanding Director inductee with the Institute of Corporate Directors. He is a graduate of St. Francis Xavier University, Queen’s University and the University of New Brunswick Law School and is also the recipient of 15 Honorary Degrees.
