Who Is Automated Investing For?

TD Automated Investing can be a good option for investors2 who:

TD Automated Investing FAQs

A Robo-advisor is a digital financial platform that uses technology to build and monitor an automated investment portfolio based on your financial goals and risk appetite.

The minimum account balance needed to start investing is $5,000.

TD Automated investing offers tiered pricing based on your account balance. For example, you'll pay a minimum advisory fee of $75 annually for an account balance under $25,000 or 0.30% per year for an account balance over $25,000.1

We'll choose funds based on your investment goals and risk appetite. You will have access to one of 7 TD Wealth Strategic Portfolios, consisting of ETFs and/or Mutual Funds.

  • Individual or Joint Tenants with Rights of Survivorship taxable accounts.
  • Tax deferred Traditional or Roth IRA accounts. We are not able to open IRAs using rollovers from ERISA Plan accounts.

Please note contribution limitations apply to Traditional or Roth IRA accounts.

You will first start by telling us about yourself and your financial goals and risk appetite. Then, based on your feedback, we will recommend one of 7 TD Wealth Strategic Portfolios consisting of Mutual Funds, ETFs, and/or cash.  You will need to complete an account application and provide your consent and agreement to important terms and conditions. Once your TDAI application is submitted, we will review it and notify you when your account is opened. You'll then be able to fund your account by linking to existing bank accounts.
