On Sunday, March 8th, we celebrate International Women's Day (IWD), a day that highlights the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. At TDAM, we are proud to do our part to promote and support the female experience.

In 1911, the first IWD gathering attracted over a million people.1 Since then, IWD has made great strides in challenging stereotypes, fighting bias, broadening perceptions, and improving circumstances for women the world over. The theme of IWD 2020 is #EachforEqual. It's a smart investment. At TDAM, we see the benefits of making smart investments and seeing them through.

By 2026, it’s estimated that women in Canada will control close to half of all accumulated financial wealth.Women are also expected to inherit $710 billion by 2026.3 In our business, the future truly is female.

From a longer life expectancy, to dizzying life stages, to a significant pay gap compared to men, women are primed for adversity. They can prioritize and reprioritize at the snap of a finger. They can stay the course. It's a wonder 87% of women struggle to find an advisor with whom they could connect.4

Whether they're at the helm of a company or the head of a household, women are leading the charge. And we're fully supportive. From educating our advisors on the unique needs of women to creating large-scale, female-focused investment campaigns, we're showing up for women. And we can't wait to do more.
