Fraud Alert: Bank Impersonation Scams

 

Criminals are impersonating TD Bank employees by phone, text, and email to pressure customers into sharing secure information. TD will never call, text, or email you to ask for passwords, one-time passcodes, Secure ID codes, or account details. If you receive a suspicious call, hang up immediately and contact TD using the number on the back of your card or bank statement. When in doubt, disconnecting quickly could prevent financial loss.

 

Protect yourself:

Never grant remote access to your computer, phone or device

Do not share passwords, one-time passcodes (OTP), Secure ID, or token codes—ever

Do not trust Caller ID—criminals can make calls appear to come from TD

TD will not keep you on the phone for hours or ask for remote access to your device

TD will not ask you to verify or move money to “secure” or to “temporary” accounts

Hang up immediately and call TD directly using a known, trusted number
