General Statement Availability Rules

 

Annual Statements

 

Term Investment/GIC, RSP and RESP Accounts:

 

Online Statements for Term Investment/GIC, RSP and RESP accounts are produced on an annual basis as follows:

 

  • Term Investment/GIC and TFSA accounts with:
    •    a balance

 

  • RSP/LRSP/LIRA accounts with:
    •    a balance

 

  • RESP accounts:
    •    all accounts with a balance
    •    closed accounts which have had activity during the prior calendar year

 

Mortgage:

 

Online Statements for active mortgage accounts only are produced annually in January.

 

Monthly Statements

 

Personal Line of Credit (student, investment, unsecured) and Home Equity Line of Credit:

 

Online Statements for personal lines of credit (student, investment and unsecured) and home equity line of credit accounts are produced monthly.

 

TD Canada Trust produces Online Statements for all line of credit account types, EXCEPT when the line of credit has all of the following:

  •    A zero statement opening balance (both fixed and revolving)
  •    A zero statement closing balance (both fixed and revolving)
  •    No transactions during the statement period

 

Credit Card Accounts:

 

Online Statements for personal and business credit cards are typically provided on a monthly basis as described below.

 

TD Canada Trust produces online copies of Statements for all personal and business credit card account types, EXCEPT when:

 

For Personal Cards:

  • There is no activity on your Account during the last month; or
  • There is an outstanding Balance on the Account but if during any three-month period, there is an outstanding credit Balance on the Account that is less than $10 and there has been no activity on the Account during that three-month period, then we may provide you with a statement only at the end of that third-month period.
  • The account has been closed for more than 12 months with a zero balance

 

For Business Cards:

  •  There has been no activity on your Account during the last month; or
  •  There is an outstanding Balance that we owe you or you owe us of more than $1.00 on the Account but if during any three-month period, there is an outstanding credit Balance on the Account that is less than $10 and there has been no activity on the Account during that three-month period, then we may provide you with a statement only at the end of that third-month period.
  •  The account has been closed for more than 12 months with a zero balance

 

Personal Deposit Accounts:

 

Online Statements for personal accounts are produced monthly once an account owner has opted-in for electronic delivery, EXCEPT when:

  •    Account balance < $500.00 and no transactions excluding service charges and interest during the statement period
  •    Account balance > $500.00 and no transactions including service charges and interest (chequing accounts only, excluding Youth accounts)

 

Business information:

 

  •    All CDA accounts receive a monthly statement (last business day in a given month).
  •    Statements can also be cut off other than month end (e.g., daily, weekly) as required.
  •    Closed statements are produced for these accounts on statement cycle day only (not on day of closing).

 

Suppressed Statements

 

Statements are suppressed when the account balance is between $0 and $3.75 and there is no activity, customer or system-generated, within the last 30 days.

 

Note: CDA customer statements are not suppressed at December month-end.
