General Statement Retention Rules
When an account is closed, it will no longer be visible on your EasyWeb Personal Financial Summary Page. However, online statements for closed accounts will remain accessible to you via the Online Statements Repository page for a specific period of time dependent on the product type.
- 18 months for closed mortgage and line of credit accounts, including home equity line of credit accounts
- 12 months for closed Term Investments/GIC, and RSP accounts
- 18 months for closed Personal and Business deposit accounts
- 12 months for closed Credit Cards accounts
Some account statements will no longer be available for viewing on EasyWeb if:
RSP
- A plan has a zero balance for more than 2 years
Term Investment/GIC
- An account has a zero balance and has been inactive since the previous calendar year
Line of Credit
- The line of credit account has been closed by the customer for more than 18 months.
- The line of credit account has been closed by TD Canada Trust for more than 30 months.
Credit Cards
- The credit card account has been closed with a zero balance for more than 12 months. Note; When credit card accounts are closed with an outstanding balance, they will continue to have a statement produced until the balance in the account is paid in full. Once the balance in the account has been paid in full, the statements will remain in the Online Statement repository for 12 months beyond the date that the account is paid in full.
