How to Purchase a Mutual Fund

Find out how you can purchase Mutual Funds with an existing TD Mutual Funds Account. To get started, sign into the TD app.

Step 1: Go to the View Account page

From the View Account page, select Purchase Mutual Funds.

On the Purchase Mutual Funds page, in the Fund drop down menu ensure the Mutual Fund displayed is the fund you wish to contribute to.

Please note, you can only contribute to funds you already own.

In the Amount section, enter the amount of money you wish to contribute.

In the From Account field, ensure the account you want the funds taken from is selected.

In the To Mutual Fund Account field, ensure the Mutual Fund displayed is the fund you wish to contribute to.

Select Yes or No from Are you using borrowed money to make this investment?

Keep in mind, investments cannot be purchased online using borrowed money.

In the E-mail field, the email on file will auto-populate.

Read the Fund Facts to review key information about the fund’s risk factors, past performance, costs, and investor rights.

Check the consent box to acknowledge you have reviewed the Fund Facts and agree to receive them electronically.

Select the Preview Purchase button to continue.

Review the information to make sure it’s correct.

Select the Purchase button to complete the transaction.

You'll receive a confirmation for your records.
