Developing Leaders

At TD, everyone is a leader of the TD Framework, so it's important our learning programs and platforms offer unique experiences to support leaders at every level. Our key programs and tools include:

Everyday Leadership

Everyday Leadership is a suite of learning resources to help all TD employees become a leader of the TD Framework.

With a focus on personal excellence and leadership skills, the program consists of three core elements:

  • Everyday Leadership Facilitated Series: A collection of formal workshops created for people leaders, this series focuses on offerings such as Coaching, Delegation, Leading Change and Emotional Intelligence
  • Everyday Leadership Portal: Available for all employees, the portal is the central repository of leadership learning resources and tools. Built to provide on demand access, the portal helps employees and leaders access the learning they need, when they need it.
  • Everyday Leadership Lounge: An internal social media community, the "Everyday Leadership Lounge" creates an innovative space for all employees to connect, engage and find daily inspiration.

360° Feedback provides an opportunity to provide honest, confidential feedback to executives, managers and employees in the leadership pipeline specific to behaviours of the TD Framework. The focus of TD’s 360° Feedback program is personal development, not performance.

Customized Leadership Development involves additional tools and business-specific programs, including external skills assessments with industrial psychologists, coaches to support job transitions or capability-building, and mentoring.

Executive Development

Leading with Impact is an experience-based program created for our executive pipeline audience. The program challenges participants through a combination of critical experiences and classroom learning, with a focus on driving real business impact and developing leadership capabilities through a strategic team assignment.

A key program component is to work in cross-functional teams and partner with a Community Organization to help address business issues and present recommended solutions to an Executive or Board of Director Panel. We are proud of our commitment to giving back to the community though this initiative (internally named #GivetoGrow) and it has been incredibly well received by participants and our external partners.

Executive Onboarding and Orientation: It includes elements such as a 'welcome to TD' package, executive orientation session, online support tools and interactive videos to help understand organizational goals and dynamics.

Executive Pod Coaching: A facilitated group coaching experience amongst newly appointed AVPs to support leadership capability building and transitions to a new level of leadership.
