Responsible Employer

As a responsible employer, we work hard to create a workplace culture in which our employees feel inspired, valued, healthy and safe.

TD continues to invest significantly in campus programs to attract and develop the next generation of leaders. For example, we provide paid internships, have co-op programs with colleges and universities and offer unique rotational programs that allow recent graduates to explore different career options at TD while building their network and industry knowledge. Both interns and early-career hires receive mentorship from senior employees on career development.

TD provides employees with a comprehensive total rewards package that includes a combination of base salary, incentive compensation, benefits, and retirement and savings plans. The bank's philosophy is to provide a competitive package that is tailored, as appropriate, to the different practices of the locations in which the bank operates. In 2017, we spent $10 billion globally on compensation and benefits. Compensation programs are designed to be fair and administered without discrimination, and we conduct market research to ensure that our total rewards programs are competitive within our industry.

Retirement and Benefits

As part of TD’s investment in employee well-being, we offer a comprehensive benefits plan, including medical, dental and insurance options that provide choice and flexibility to best meet the changing needs of our employees and their families. We are also proud to offer a robust compensation package, an employee share ownership plan (Canada), a competitive defined benefit pension plan (Canada) and 401(k) (U.S.) and group savings plans to help employees meet their financial goals.

Supporting Work/Life Flexibility

Part of maintaining the physical and mental well-being of our employees involves supporting personal decisions to help balance work with demands on their personal time. We provide flexible work options to help managers and employees think creatively about how, when and where work is accomplished.
