How Your Reward Is Calculated
Your reward is based on your Total Funding Amount, or TFA. TFA is the value of eligible assets transferred from outside TD Bank Group into your eligible account(s) under this Offer, less withdrawals that reduce your qualifying amount.
- Eligible assets initially transferred into an eligible registered account can qualify for 2% cash back.
- Eligible assets initially transferred into an eligible non-registered account can qualify for 1% cash back.
- The maximum total cash back reward is $15,000.
- If you transfer eligible assets into more than one eligible account, TD will combine the asset values to calculate your TFA.
- The cash back rate is determined by the first eligible account the assets are transferred into under this Offer. Moving assets between eligible accounts after initial deposit will not change the cash back rate that applies to those assets.
- Only eligible assets transferred by May 31, 2027 will count toward your TFA.
- The reward will be calculated using the TFA maintained in your eligible account(s) as of May 31, 2028.
Transfer, Withdrawals and Market Value
- The market value of eligible assets at the time of deposit will be used to determine the value transferred into your eligible account(s).
- Canadian-dollar and U.S.-dollar assets will be combined to determine your TFA. U.S.-dollar balances will be converted to Canadian dollars using the exchange rate on the date of deposit.
- Interest and dividends are not included in your TFA. However, if you withdraw interest or dividends, that withdrawal will reduce your TFA.
- Withdrawals made between November 2, 2026 and May 31, 2028 from any eligible account will reduce your TFA. This includes withdrawals of assets that were already in the account before the Offer began, regardless of when you registered.
- Withdrawals from non-eligible accounts, including RIF, LIF, RESP, RDSP and non-personal accounts other than Corporate Accounts, will not reduce your TFA.
- Market fluctuations and account fees will not be used to determine whether your account qualifies for the reward.
- If withdrawals reduce your TFA below $10,000 as of May 31, 2028, you will no longer qualify for the reward.
Joint Accounts Eligibility
- If eligible assets are transferred into a joint account, any cash back reward for that account will be paid only to the primary account holder.
- Withdrawals from a joint account will reduce the primary account holder’s TFA, regardless of which account holder makes the withdrawal.
- TD Direct Investing is not responsible for how the reward is managed or shared after it is paid.
How And When The Reward Is Paid
- The reward will be paid by June 30, 2028.
- If you have transferred eligible assets into one eligible account, the full reward will be paid into that account.
- If you transferred eligible assets into more than one eligible account, the reward will be divided proportionately among those accounts based on the amount of eligible assets transferred into each account.
- The reward will be paid in Canadian dollars to the Canadian-dollar component of the eligible account(s).
- The maximum reward under this Offer is $15,000 across all TD Direct Investing accounts.
