With direct deposit at TD, your paycheque and eligible government payments are deposited directly into your chequing account—set up is easy, secure and can be done in about a minute, right from the TD app, with most employers.
Direct deposit isn’t reserved for only paycheques from your employer. You can also set up direct deposit for eligible government payments, like your tax refund, GST/HST credits or the Canada child benefit.
Once it’s set up, your money is deposited automatically into your TD Chequing Account—so you can access it as soon as you’re paid. No cheques. No queues. No delays.

Payroll direct deposit makes getting paid simple—your pay goes straight into your TD Chequing Account, without needing to deposit a cheque or transfer funds.
You can set it up in the TD app in about a minute. Here’s how:
- Sign in to the TD app and select a Chequing Account where you’d like your payments deposited.
- Click the Details Tab, Direct Deposit Info button and select “Paycheque Direct Deposit” option.
- Select your employer, review and confirm.
And just like that, you're all set up to get your funds deposited in your TD Chequing Account.

Get government payments with direct deposit
Not only can you get your paycheque through direct deposit, at TD, but you can receive government payments too. There’s a couple different types of government payments that you can receive this way.
Canadian Revenue Agency (CRA) Payments
You can set up CRA direct deposit in the TD app in just a few taps. Once complete, payments like your tax refund go straight into your account.
- Just Log in to the TD app and select the chequing account where you’d like your payments deposited.
- Click the Details Tab ->Direct Deposit Info button, -> select CRA Direct Deposit and follow the instructions.

Other Government payments
To set up direct deposit for other government payment types, like Canada Pension Plan (CPP), Old Age Security (OAS) and Employment Insurance (EI) payments, you can visit a TD branch near you to complete setup or simply visit the Government of Canada Direct Deposit page for additional setup options
Set up manually if you need to
If your employer or payroll provider isn’t listed in the TD app, no worries, you can still set up direct deposit at TD.
Simply download the direct deposit form from the TD app and share it with your employer or payroll provider.
