How to log in to the TD app using your temporary password

Learn how to log in to the TD app for mobile banking. You’ll need the temporary password you got from TD, either at a branch or over the phone. Download the TD app to get started.

Step 1. Log in to the TD app

Enter your Username or Access Card number.

Then enter your temporary password in the Password field.

Select the Login button.

If you’re a new TD customer, continue scrolling.

If you're already a TD customer, skip ahead to Step 6: Choose your new password.

Step 2: Set up Two-Step Verification

When you register, you’ll be asked to set up Two-Step Verification.

We use Two-Step Verification for your protection. We’ll only send you a one-time security code if we need to verify your identity for online or mobile banking.

Review the security steps and then select the Continue button.

Read the Two-Step Verification Terms of Use and select Agree.

Step 3. Enter and verify your phone number

Enter the Phone Number(s) you’d like to use to receive your security code.

If your phone number is from outside of Canada, you’ll also need to select your country from the Country Code dropdown.

When you’re done, select the Next button at the bottom of the screen.

You can verify your phone number now or later. To do it now, select the Verify Number button.

Verification ensures that you're able to receive the security code to the number you've provided.

If you’d rather do this later, select the Next button at the bottom of the screen and skip to Step 4: Enter your email address.

To verify your phone number, you'll need a security code.

Choose whether to receive the code via a call or text message. (For the purposes of this tutorial, we’ve selected Text Me.)

Then, select Send Code at the bottom of the screen.

Standard wireless carrier message and data rates and roaming fees may apply.

We will never contact you for this code. Do not reveal it to anyone else.

When you receive your 6-digit security code, type it in the Enter Security Code field and select the Next button at the bottom of the screen.

Your code will expire in a few minutes. If you don’t receive a code or need a new one, select the Send a New Code button. It may take a minute or two to arrive.

Your phone number is now verified.

You can add up to 5 phone numbers. If you don’t want to add other numbers, select the Next button.

Step 4. Enter your email address

Enter the Email Address you’d like to use to receive security alerts.

Select the Next button at the bottom of the screen.

If the email address is correct, select the Confirm button.

Step 5. Confirm security code login options

Choose how often you’d like us to confirm your identity

Then, select the Done button at the bottom of the screen.

You have now finished your security setup.

Select the Continue button to choose your new password.

Step 6. Choose your new password

Enter the temporary password you received from TD in the Temporary Password field.

Enter your new password in the New Password and Confirm New Password fields.

Your new password needs to have:

  • Between 8 and 32 characters
  • At least 1 letter
  • At least 1 number

To strengthen your password, include both upper and lower-case letters, as well as special characters (such as !, ? or @).

Avoid sharing your password or using the same password in multiple places.

A message will appear confirming that your new password is set to log in to the TD app or EasyWeb.

We recommend changing your password every 90 days or so to ensure your account stays secure.

Select the Continue button at the bottom of the screen.

If you're a new TD customer and would like to set up your biometric login (Touch ID, Face ID, Fingerprint, etc.) select the Enable button.

If not, select the Not Now button. You can enable biometric login later through app settings. This tour assumes you've selected Not Now.

If you're already a TD customer, you will bypass this screen.

You’re now logged in to the app.

Congratulations! You've completed this tutorial.
