Frequently Asked Questions

People often choose between a loan or a line of credit based on their borrowing needs. At TD, we offer a variety of loan types and lines of credit for you to choose from.

  • Government identification which includes your full name and address
  • Proof of income such as a recent pay stub or tax return
  • Your bank account details

If other documents are required for your borrowing needs, your TD advisor will let you know when you meet with them.

At the time of your credit application, TD will obtain your written consent to obtain a copy of your credit report and credit score.

A credit score is a three-digit number that's assigned to you by either one of the two Canadian credit bureaus, Equifax Canada or TransUnion. Your credit score is an assessment of your ability to fulfill the financial commitment of borrowing credit at a particular time based on your financial history as reported to the credit bureau. For more information on credit scores, please visit the Equifax website here or the TransUnion website here.
