How to qualify2 and what to bring to the branch

  1. Permanent Resident, International Student or Temporary Resident for 5 years or less (with proof of status)

  2. Have never held a TD Chequing Account

  3. Age of majority in your province or territory of residence

  1. One of the following pieces of residency identification:

    • Permanent Resident Card
    • Immigrant Visa and Record of Landing (IMM Form #1000)
    • Confirmation of Permanent Residence (IMM Form #5292/5688) OR Temporary Work Permit (IMM Form #1442/1102) OR Study Permit (IMM Form #1208)
  2. One of the following documents:

    • A valid passport
    • Canadian Driver’s License
    • Canadian Government ID Card

    International Students are also required to provide Proof of enrollment in a post-secondary program. The document provided must have been issued by the school and contain the following information: Student Name, Name of University or College, Program and current year of study
