Frequently asked questions
Wherever supported, you’ll see the KONEK button at the online check-out. Continue to visit KONEK.ca to learn when new merchants join KONEK.
When you choose KONEK at checkout, you can select to pay directly from your eligible Canadian account, debit card or credit card products from your participating financial institution.
For TD customers, this currently means your eligible TD Credit Cards, TD Access Cards with Visa Debit, or TD chequing and savings accounts.
Please see the full list of eligible TD Credit Cards, TD Access Cards with Visa Debit, and TD chequing and savings accounts.
Note: Only eligible cards or accounts (excluding U.S. Daily Interest Chequing Account) linked to your TD EasyWeb profile can be used with KONEK/INTERAC Direct®
Refunds are typically processed in a similar way to the original form of payment: if you make a purchase with KONEK your refund should be applied to the account (debit card, credit card, chequing, or savings account) you selected from your financial institution at time of payment. Refund policies do vary across merchants, if you have any questions about refunds, please contact the merchant directly.
There are actions that are important for you to take to help protect yourself & your TD accounts against fraud when using online banking, such as:
- enabling Fraud Alerts from TD for your transactions and activities
- creating passwords that are unique is key. Rather than reusing the same or similar passwords across multiple sites, put in the extra effort to use a variety of original and varied combinations.
- setting up two-factor or multi-factor authentication
- using anti-virus software on all your devices.
- regularly checking your account statements to verify that all transactions have been properly documented. If entries are not accurate – for example, there are missing or additional transactions – you should immediately contact us.

The Interac Direct service is a new online payment method with participating merchants in Canada available through the KONEK gateway which allows consumers to pay for their online purchases directly from their eligible accounts that the participating financial institution makes available.
Eligible TD bank accounts are Canadian chequing and savings accounts.
There is a daily cumulative Interac Direct spend limit of $1000. This limit applies to the sum of all Interac Direct transactions made with all eligible TD accounts set up in your profile. The daily limit resets at midnight EST (12:00:00 AM) on every calendar day.
